Classic rockers on their way to Lancaster area

Fans of classic rock have reason to celebrate, as two supergroups are teaming up for a tour of North America in 2018.

Def Leppard and Journey will be headlining a six-month tour that takes them across the country and into Canada, according to an article in the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette. Def Leppard is a platinum-selling band who last toured with Journey 12 years ago.

Journey’s guitarist, Neal Schon, says that playing with Def Leppard will result in “epic classic rock shows,” since the bands have a number of hits between them. He added he is looking forward to seeing the fans.

Rick Savage, bass guitarist for Def Leppard, describes the tour they did with Journey 12 years ago as “an absolute blast,” so he is looking forward to renewing acquaintances and hopes to make this tour even more of a success.

The tour kicks off May 21 in Hartford, Connecticut and winds up in Los Angeles, California, on October 6. The groups will play three dates in Ohio: on May 28, they will be in Cleveland at the Quicken Loans Arena; on May 30, the groups play in Cincinnati at the U.S. Bank Arena; and on August 22, they will appear at Columbus’s Schottenstein Center. Additional ticket information is still to be announced.
