Wildlife officer to educate Boardman locals

Boardman residents will be able to learn about local animals during a special presentation organized by the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.

Tom Frank, the County Wildlife Officer for Mahoning County, will teach Ohio residents about the state’s wildlife. The program will go over topics such as the habitats of local animals and what the community can do to keep its fauna safe and healthy.

The presentation will be held over a Zoom call and is intended for a teen and adult audience. Organizations offering entertaining programs like this can use flyer printing to advertise the broadcast.

Frank is involved with the Division of Wildlife in the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The division was created in 1873 by the Ohio Fish Commission to combat declining fish populations in local bodies of water. There are almost 400 trained team members currently in the organization who carry out projects. As a wildlife officer, Frank enforces laws related to the environment and patrols thousands of acres of land.

The wildlife presentation will be held on Friday, June 25th from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. The broadcast is free for all to see, though registration is required to receive a link to the program. Those who are curious about other educational events from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources can find a list of future activities on its website.
