Local library near Boardman honors revolutionary artist

This March, the Canfield Library located just outside of Boardman, Ohio will be educating guests about the famous artist Claude Monet.

Each month the libraries located around Youngstown and Mahoning County feature a different artist to educate adults and teens about various genres of art. Claude Monet has been selected as March’s artist, giving those who attend the class the opportunity to learn about Monet’s life history and lasting impact on artistic techniques.

Everyone attending the event has the opportunity to create an art project inspired by Monet’s unique style. The instructor will guide guests on how to use markers to recreate one of Monet’s famous works, The Stroll. Pieces that are made during the event can be taken home by participating attendees.

The libraries of Youngstown and Mahoning County offer a variety of activities for locals to join thanks to the donations of businesses around the area. Any companies interested in contributing to the library can visit the website and give funds in support of funding events and projects. Those who donate can increase the visibility for their businesses by taking advantage of the poster printing used to thank and honor donors.

The course will be held on March 19 at the Canfield Library in the evening from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. This event will be free to all who are interested in attending and does not require any registrations in advance to join. All crafting materials will be provided to those attending the session.
