Restaurant #1A, which is located across from the site of the original Arby’s, is currently celebrating its grand reopening here in Boardman.
Located at 29 Boardman-Canfield Road, the rebuilt Arby’s features a new format that has resulted in increased restaurant efficiency. The company’s new design, called Inspire, includes chalkboard graphics, modern lighting with stainless steel, and subway tiling. The goal of Inspire is to project an atmosphere that is contemporary yet comfortable, but an unexpected byproduct has been a sales increases upwards of 15%.
It was in 1964 that Leroy and Forrest Raffel opened up a drive-in sandwich shop with seating for 10. This was the start of the Arby’s restaurant chain, the Logo Design of which is familiar to so many. From that small beginning, the company has grown tremendously. Arby’s has experienced transaction growth for the last 10 consecutive quarters, industry outperformance of 15 consecutive quarters, and same-store sales growth for the last 24 quarters.
During 2016’s first three quarters, Arby’s launched 34 new locations and remodeled 188 others. In conjunction with its grand opening, between November 28 and December 26, for every kids’ meal sold the newly opened Boardman Arby’s will donate the purchase price to Stadium Drive Elementary School. The donations are in support of the Arby’s Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment across the country.
