Syosset business sponsors local 10k race
For its 40th year, the Aspire 10 Kilometer Run will be getting a new name.
Jonas Chiropractic & Sports Injury Care, based in Syosset, has signed up to be the name sponsor for the annual event. Starting this year, the run will be dubbed the Jonas Chiropractic & Sports Injury Care Aspire 10 Kilometer Run.
Much else about this year's run will be the same as in past years. It will still take place on the same course, taking runners through Bethpage, Old Bethpage and Plainview. Runs such as these are popular and organizers often use printing services to print promotional flyers or to create maps of the route.
The course has been described as "challenging but fair," and has welcomed several generations of both walkers and runners.
Karen Schackner, the race director, told the Syosset-Jericho Tribune that she was:
Thanks to the medical office's support, the Greater Long Island Running Club, which organizes the race, will be able to offer giveaways and contests to each person who signs up to participate. The running club expects the 40th edition of the race to be the biggest one ever.
The race will be held on Saturday, April 1, starting at 9am. The starting point for the 10K race is at Mattlin Middle School in Plainview.
