Syosset are to celebrate polar sea creatures
The North and South Poles may seem cold and inhospitable, but a Syosset event will introduce one species that has adapted to the habitat to the community.
The Whaling Museum, which provides a glimpse into the history of whaling as well as modern conservation, has scheduled its Narwhal Ball for 2024. Named in honor of a tusked whale that calls the Arctic and the far-northern areas home, the festival will be filled with frosty fun, and the whole family can take part.
The event will offer a sneak peek into the lives of polar animals, and to help make the learning fun, it will be delivered through presentations and other special activities. The kids can listen to a story read by “Elsa” from Disney’s Frozen, and the Ice Queen will be on hand for photo ops. Kilwin’s of Huntington will be supplying the ice cream, and the younger guests can make a craft to take home as a keepsake of the day.
Museums and other institutions often host special events to draw the public’s attention to a particular subject. Decor for a themed activity can be crafted by a banner printing company, and can include any graphic design elements desired.
This opportunity to learn more about and celebrate the creatures that call the poles home is taking place on Sunday, February 4. Its Patch listing can be consulted for further details.
