The drive began on May 1 and will continue through July 6. During it, the town hopes to collection much needed supplies that will be sent to women and men serving in the US Armed Forces around the world.
Towns can use flyer printing to spread the word about charity drives and fundraisers and to let people know where they can drop items off.
The Town of Oyster Bay has several drop-off locations for its collection drive. Drop-off sites include the Department of Public Works, in Syosset, the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating Center over in Bethpage, Oyster Bay's Town Hall North, and Massapequa's Town Hall South.
The items the town hopes to collect include first aid products, such as bandages, cortisone creams, and antibiotic ointments, as well as medications such as Pepto Bismol, acetaminophen, and ibuprofen. Non-perishable snacks and foods such as beef jerky, lollipops, peanut butter and microwavable soups, and pastas are also in demand.
Residents are also encouraged to donate personal care items, such as stick or solid deodorant, dental hygiene products, razors, feminine products, and lotion. One product that the drive is no longer accepting is shoeboxes.
