Long-running spring festival on the horizon
This weekend sees Hofstra University’s 31st Annual Dutch Spring Music Festival, with returning musicians offering everything from classical music to jazz, as well as various other forms of entertainment for children and adults.
The group organizing this year’s event might have used poster printing and banner printing to spread the word about this celebration of spring to people in the area.
This year’s festival is being presented by a partnership formed with Hofstra and the D’Addario Foundation and will feature local and young musicians playing music from the 1960s right up to today.
Featured groups include New York’s Most Dangerous Big Band, the Long Island’s East End Trio, and Franz Bloem. This is a fundraising festival with proceeds benefitting the Hofstra University Scholarship Fund. People will enjoy learning about Dutch heritage, seeing the vibrant tulips (weather permitting), an assortment of children’s activities, and plenty of Mother’s Day shopping opportunities.
The cost to attend thw festival is $7 per adult, $5 per senior, and children under the age of 12 are admitted free. It all takes place this Sunday, May 4, starting at 11:00 am at the Hofstra University’s South Campus located at 1000 Fulton Avenue in Hempstead, just down the road from Syosset.
