Curling class to help Syosset get sweeping
Curling is a sport that can be enjoyed by almost anyone, and a Syosset workshop may help those who are new to the activity get sweeping.
A Learn to Curl class has been planned for the end of May, and the Long Island Sports Hub will serve as the venue. There are two dates to choose from, and they both run for two and a half hours.
The workshop will be facilitated by an instructor, and it will provide information and hands-on practice. The attendees will learn how to deliver a stone, sweep its path, and strategies to use when playing, and there will be a chance for the learners to take to the ice themselves. Warm clothing is recommended, as are rubber-soled shoes. Helmets and other gear are optional. Those who are interested can sign up as part of a group or on their own. Free parking is available on site.
Learning a new sport can be fun and also a great way to meet new friends. They are often listed in community guides and similar publications, which can be prepared by brochure printing companies.
The Long Island Curling Club, which is located at 165 Eileen Way in Syosset, will be offering this introduction to curling on Friday, May 31, starting at 8:10 pm. It will be repeated on Saturday, June 1 for those who can't make the first session.
