Lindenhurst parents-to-be are encouraged to register now for a workshop that will give them information they can use to have a positive birthing experience.
The “Building Your Birth Environment Workshop” has been created by The Nesting Place to give expecting moms and dads tips they can draw on during each stage of labor. It will be focused on natural methods of pain control, and the schedule includes a make-and-take activity.
The session, which will run for approximately one and a half hours, will offer tips for using props during childbirth, and all the senses will be included. The host of the activity explained that these can be used as natural Forms of pain relief, and they will also help the mother-to-be to focus on the task at hand. There will be an opportunity for the participants to review their birth plan, as well as their BISHOP score, which is a tool used by medical professionals to determine how likely it is that a woman will go into labor soon.
By giving soon-to-be-parents knowledge they can use, an activity like this can help to take the apprehension out of the arrival of their bundle of joy. Copies of handouts and other learning materials can be sourced from Stationery printers.
The Building Your Birth Environment session has been scheduled for the afternoon of January 24. It will be held at 2043 Wellwood Avenue in Farmingdale.
