The Love in Action 5K will be held in Lindenhurst next month to help a local charity’s efforts to support foster children and families dealing with cancer.
The organization in question is the McGarry “Love in Action” Foundation, which was created in memory of Kris and Joe McGarry, who were devoted foster parents to many Nassau County children for over 30 years. The foundation seeks to honor their work by providing programs to help foster kids who age out of the system without any support or safety nets.
The event will include both a 5K and children’s fun run. There will be awards in each age category, as well as in men’s and women’s categories. Bagels, coffee, water, and other snacks will be provided. There also will be an afterparty at Sand City Brewing. Complimentary finish line photos will be available as well.
Run organizers may need to consider what Logo Design services to contract to prepare their race day swag and merchandise, and local Print shops may be able to help with such endeavors.
The Love in Action 5K is scheduled for Saturday, October 10. The fun run begins at 8:30 am, and the 5K starts at 9:00 am. It will be held at Venetian Shores Park, which is at 850 Venetian Boulevard, Lindenhurst.
