Next month, The Town of Babylon Parks will present the Beach Blast at Overlook Beach in Lindenhurst for residents interested in soaking up the late summer sun and enjoying family-friendly activities.
The Town of Babylon Parks oversees all recreation and park districts in the town, including those of its villages, such as Lindenhurst. These areas include town pools, spray parks, playgrounds, Cedar Campground, and the ocean and bay beaches.
Overlook Beach is one of the three ocean beaches in town and is only open to the town's residents, who must obtain a permit to access it during the summer. The Beach Blast is a free event, but this permit must be obtained before entering.
The event will feature children's activities such as bouncy houses and games, and the band called Somethin' Fresh will put on a live performance. When night falls, attendees can enjoy a fireworks display courtesy of The Babylon IDA.
