Weekend event to go round the houses

Those who enjoy historic houses will not want to miss the annual Holiday House Tour, organized by the Historical Society of Islip.

Now in its 21st year, the event will take guests through one of the 24 sites owned by the Society in the Islip area, with each one being either historically or architecturally significant. The tour guides will wear Victorian dress to provide an added sense of historical flare.

There will be a reception at a nearby church, where guests can enjoy refreshments and live entertainment. There will also be an opportunity to bid on and win prizes through a 50/50 Raffle and a Chinese Auction. Finally, the Society will be accepting toys from the USMC's Toys For Tots Campaign, and it asks that guests bring a new and unwrapped toy to donate to the cause.

Promoters for this event might want printing companies to help them by creating advertising materials like Posters, Flyers, or Postcards. These kinds of materials can be distributed in the high-traffic areas of nearby towns like Lindenhurst to draw more attention to the event.

The tour will take place on Sunday, December 7, and it will run from noon until 5:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $20. There will also be tickets available on the day of the event for $25.
