Next month, the National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) will host Fighting Senior Fraud: Protection is Power, a scam prevention webinar aimed at helping Lindenhurst senior citizens and their caregivers protect themselves against scams.
The NAIPC is a senior citizen support network with the mission of helping older adults find community and home-based services to enable them to live independent lives for as long as possible. The Fighting Senior Fraud webinar falls along these lines as it gives seniors the information needed to fight against fraud.
The free virtual event will be presented by Judy Serino, a Home Instead Senior Care Representative, and Kate Maguire, an attorney at the firm Ken Maguire & Associates, PLLC. They will teach seniors and their caretakers how to recognize some of the most common scams and how to report them to through the proper channels. The webinar will also go over how to protect against financial loss should one become a victim of senior fraud.
The Fighting Senior Fraud webinar is scheduled for Thursday, June 10, starting at 7:00 pm. It will be held over Zoom. To register, those interested can email info@kmlawny.com or call 516-228-8400.
