Next month will be Lindenhurst’s turn to host the Race Through America Virtual Race Series, a virtual event that encourages residents to get out and exercise while supporting a good cause.
Hosted by Virtual Run Events, Race Through America goes through each state in the country, hosting virtual races to raise money for Feeding America, a hunger relief organization with over 200 food banks across the nation. Participants will be able to choose to run one mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1 miles, 26.2 miles or 50 miles. They will have the flexibility to complete the mileage on their own time and in their chosen location. Racers will simply have to finish their races by the end of February and then submit their time online.
The registration fee is $25, and 20% of the proceeds will go towards supporting Feeding America. The fee includes a medal that will be shipped to participants. Official T-Shirts and hoodies, which display a creative Logo Design based on the state, can be purchased at an additional charge on threadless.com.
