What's Happening in Lindenhurst, NY…

A soccer competition is on the calendar in Massapequa, a short distance from Lindenhurst.

LI-Kick has organized the event, in which two-person teams will be able to compete in various soccer challenges. The winner of each competition will win swag from LI-Kick, and the team that wins overall will be awarded a cash prize. There are three competitions, during which each team will be able to earn points. The four teams getting the most points will then advance to the Gauntlet Finale.

The three competitions are the World Cup, Juggling, and Shoot Out. The World Cup teams have to work together so that one partner scores, and once a team scores they are guaranteed to move to the next round. In each round, the last team to score is dropped, and teams keep returning to the field until the final team is left.

Juggling is what it sounds like - each player will juggle the ball as long as possible. The Shoot Out gives teams a specific shot to make, such as half-field. Each member of the team attempts the shot, and those who miss are eliminated while players who succeed move up.

The Gauntlet Finale pits the final four teams against each other in a contest that combines multiple challenges, after which a champion is declared.
