Lindy Creek Defender Day will be held next month at Neguntatogue Creek in Lindenhurst to help keep the environment clean.
People are invited to participate in an upcoming community-driven river clean up that is organized by the Save the Great South Bay group. The event is part of the organization’s Creek Defender program, with each activity focusing on a different local river. Attendees will be removing debris from the creek to help it flow freely. Those interested in joining should wear long sleeves, pants, and gloves. Local sponsors will provide other tools and gear at the event.
Save The Great South Bay is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2012. The group consists of environmentalists, fishers, boaters, and marine scientists who are interested in revitalizing the Great South Bay. There are several programs created by the organization, including the Habitat Restoration Program and the Take the “Bay Friendly Yard” Pledge. Nonprofit groups like this can use Logo Design services to create branded merchandise that raises their visibility.
Lindy Creek Defender Day will be held on April 25 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. There is no price to attend the activity, though volunteers should register in advance. Anyone who wishes to support the Save the Great South Bay organization can donate on the group’s website. There is also an online store that sells custom attire, stickers, and picture Books.
