A recent event helped to raise a sum of money for Lindenhurst students who wish to pursue a higher education course after they are finished high school, and who could use some financial help to do so.
The 57th annual Larry Troiano Memorial Steak Fry, which received sponsorship form the local Kiwanis Club, was able to raise thousands of dollars for the cause.
The event was held at Fireman’s Park, and with the help of donations from Applebee’s, there was food, music, and also raffles that helped to raise even more money.
Those who had come out for the dinner were encouraged to be generous and make a donation to the scholarship fund. A banner printing firm can produce decorations that are ideal for this type of function, and since they can be made from durable materials, they can be used over and over again.
Key Club members form the local high school hand a big part in helping to organize the fundraising effort, which helped to ensure that it was a success. It gave them a chance to lend a hand to their fellow students.
All of the money that was collected will be used to help support students in Lindenhurst. Through the years, the steak fries have been able to generate a grand total of $419,400, which has been granted to 251 students in the community.
