Lindenhurst names new principal

As the start of a new school year approaches, changes are afoot at Lindenhurst High School.

The school has named Clinton Grant as the new principal. Grant took over the role as of July 21, and comes to the Lindenhurst School District from the Amityville School District. There, he was the principal at Amityville Memorial High School.

Before that, he worked at the Uniondale School District, where he started as the supervisor of the Alternative High School Program for the district. After serving as supervisor, he became the assistant principal at Uniondale High School. He was assistant principal for 10 years. During that time, he was also the assistant principal and then principal of the summer school programs at the school.

School districts that have administration changes can use newsletter printing to let families know about the developments. Families might also appreciate knowing what became of the people who left various positions.

In the case of the role of principal at Lindenhurst High School, the person who previously had the job, Christopher Gitz, has moved on to serve as principal at Great Neck South, his alma mater.

Speaking to the Lindenhurst Patch, Grant expressed excitement about his new job. He said:

“I am excited to be a part of the Lindenhurst family and community. Lindenhurst has enjoyed a longstanding tradition of success and achievement. I look forward to working with all of the members of the community, as I know that together, we will take our students to the next level.”
