Next month, Brews for Andrew Angiosarcoma Fundraiser will take place in Lindenhurst to raise money for awareness of this disease, and to help find a cure.
Angiosarcoma is a rare form of cancer that aggressively attacks the lining of lymph vessels and blood vessels. It most commonly affects the skin but can be found in various parts of the body, such as the spleen, liver, heart, and breasts. It grows rapidly and can easily spread, and with it only occurring at a rate of one person in a million, there is a lack of awareness of it.
The Brews for Andew fundraiser will be held in honor of a local community member, and is now in its fourth year of raising a glass to him and raising money for the organizations currently researching angiosarcoma. Attendees will be able to enjoy tipples from the brewery, as well as food donated from local restaurants. There will also be fun raffles and a 50/50 cash raffle.
Local businesses may decide to support local fundraisers like this by donating Promotional Products to raffles to be held during the event.
The Brews for Andrew Angiosarcoma Fundraiser is expected to take place on Saturday, August 23 from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. The hosting venue is Sand City South, which is at 150 South, Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst.
