Lindenhurst boy launches lemonade stand

Many future entrepreneurs get their first taste of owning a business by starting up a lemonade stand during the summer months, but Jayden Magliaro of Lindenhurst has started particularly early.

The four-year-old, has both an entrepreneurial and a charitable spirit. After meeting a group of Wounded Warriors at a local Marriot last year, Jayden wanted to do something to help them.

He got the idea to start his own lemonade and snack stand to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. His stand, which sells lemonade, ice tea and snacks, has raised more than $600 for the organization. Before the Wounded Warrior ride on July 20, Jayden presented the group with an oversized check for $600.

People who are raising money for charitable causes can use poster printing to create oversized Checks to show how much they have raised.

After dropping off the check, Jayden has been able to raise even more money for the organization, thanks to donations that were mailed in or dropped off at his house. People have also dropped by the lemonade stand just to make a donation to the cause.

Along with giving money to Jayden for his fundraising project, members of the community presented him with presents as a way to say thanks. One woman gave him an ARMY training T-shirt that was her daughter's, and a retired officer from the NYPD gave him a pin.
