The Town of Babylon Italian Food Festival will take place in the village of Lindenhurst this May to celebrate the rich and varied history of Italian Americans and their cuisine in the town.
This will be the inauguration of the festival, presented by Councilman Anthony Manetta and Town Clerk Gerry Compitello. The event aims to bring together food aficionados, Italian American families, and those who would like to know more about the Italian heritage of Babylon, and by extension, Lindenhurst. Inside the Town Board Room, festivalgoers will be able to check out the exhibit detailing the history of Italian immigrants to the town and the significant contributions those families have made throughout the years.
Outside on the great lawn, local food vendors will share an array of delicious Italian food while popular musical artists like Maria Venuto and Carmelo Raccuglia perform. The Lafamiglia Cadillac Club will also have several of their classic cars showcased. There is no admission, but attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of pasta and sauce for the food drive.
Festivals are often decorated with sprawling Banners that organizers can get professionally printed at local Print shops specializing in banner printing.
The Italian Food Festival is slated for May 17 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The Babylon Town Hall is located at 200 Sunrise Highway, Lindenhurst.
