December is often a busy month for many people, and that is certainly the case at Lindenhurst Memorial Library, which is holding several events throughout the month.
This Saturday, December 10, local appraisers and antique collectors Eddie and Jean Costello will hold their own version of ‘Antiques Roadshow’ at the library.
Residents who have a mysterious, older item are invited to bring it to the library to have it appraised and to see if it is worth anything. The first 40 people to sign up for the event will get a free appraisal.
Along with appraisals, the Antiques Roadshow will feature prize drawings and some comedy. It will take place from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. The organizers of the event can use poster printing to spread the word and to encourage people to register.
The next week, on December 18, the library will turn its attention to local writers. The Long Island Authors Group Book Fair will take place from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the library. The mission of the Long Island Authors Group is to promote and support authorship in the area.
The work of writers of a variety of genres will be on display at the fair, including nonfiction, fiction, young adult novels, poetry, and Books for kids. Many Books will be for sale and authors will be present to sign their work.
