Lindenhurst is one of several villages that are part of the Suffolk County town of Babylon, New York. Located on Long Island’s southern shore Lindenhurst was first called “Breslau” after the German city for which its original immigrants came. Founded in 1873, Long Island’s “Breslau” officially became Lindenhurst in 1891. Lindenhurst is joined in Babylon by two other villages and 10 hamlets.
