Next month, The Nathaniel Conklin House in the Village of Babylon, just minutes from Lindenhurst, will hold a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser to raise money to support preservation efforts.
The Nathaniel Conklin House is owned by the Village of Babylon, after being saved from being demolished in 1989. Built in 1803, the house originally belonged to Nathaniel Conklin, one of the largest landowners in Babylon who also played a key role in the early development of the village. It now stands as a symbol of the area’s humble beginnings. To maintain its preservation, the Village of Babylon will hold The Kentucky Derby, a fundraiser themed to coincide with the Kentucky Derby race event happening the same day.
The event will take place out on the lawn of the historic house and feature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. There will also be games to participate in and prizes to be won throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best fancy dress, with a prize going to the person with the best hat. The event is strictly 21 and up.
Organizers of upscale charity events like this often utilize Stationery printers to create attractive Invitations and advertising materials.
The Kentucky Derby cocktail fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, May 1, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. General admission is $50, with additional donation amounts welcomed.
