Medical professionals who deal with childbirth are invited to attend a Lindenhurst workshop at the Sea Change Holistic Wellness Center.
Tema Mercado will be leading a workshop that will teach those who assist with pregnancies and childbirth about using the location of the developing baby to restore balance during the pregnancy. The course will cover topics such as techniques for improving the fetal position, using fresh solutions for labor pain, and facilitating comfort for clients. The workshop will also teach attendees about changing the effective size of the pelvis.
Mercado is a mother of five kids who dedicated the last decade towards protecting reproductive justice. She originated the concept of the workshop during her student midwife journey. Mercado is also a Xicana Midwife who had a mentorship with Nicole Morales. Other services offered by Mercado include prenatal care and postpartum sealing. The pregnancy course will be held on Saturday, June 20th and Sunday, June 21st. Tickets to the workshop will cost $375, which will also include a light breakfast and a pot luck meal for lunch. Seating is limited, so those interested in joining should register soon. Limited parking will be provided by the venue.
