This month, bikers in Lindenhurst will have a chance to go for a long ride in the fresh air of spring, all while raising support for an important local cause.
1Journey2Wheels is holding its second autism awareness fundraiser, in honor of National Autism Month. The nonprofit is hoping to raise money to support the Special Needs Autism Program (SNAP) and the Nassau Suffolk Chapter of the Autism Society of America.
The organizers of the event can use flyer printing to help spread the word around to area motorcycle enthusiasts, and others who would want to help out. The bike run is not just for those who know how to ride. People can also purchase tickets to attend the after party, without riding. There is also the option for people to participate in the fundraiser as passengers.
The ride will start and end at 300 W Hoffman Avenue in Lindenhurst. Registration begins at 11:00 am and there will be bagels and coffee available. The run itself starts at 1:00 pm. People who plan on riding are asked to make a $20 donation to participate. Passengers are asked to donate $10.
Those who hope to attend the after party only are asked to donate $15. The party starts at 2:00 pm and will feature food and a cash bar, as well as live music.
