Those who live in Turnersville and the surrounding communities are welcome to take part in an afternoon of presentations that its organizers hope will give them a greater understanding and appreciation of their drinking water.
The TriCounty Sustainability Alliance will be hosting ‘Water is Life - A panel about the health of our drinking water’. Aimed at both those who source their drinking water from a municipal supply or from a private well, the event’s presenters will be discussing water quality, safety, and sustainability.
The experts who will be sharing their knowledge include the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Jeff L. Hoffman and Nick Procopia as well as Carmen Tierno, who is the Senior Director of Operations, for New Jersey American Water. They will outline and explain the process used to treat public drinking water, the different threats that could harm this source, where local water comes from, how someone can read their consumer confidence reports and, for those who have a private well, what tests they should carry out on their supply. Presentation Folders that contain more information can be provided to all those who take part in an information session such as this.
This educational afternoon will take place on January 8 at the Camden County Regional Emergency Training Facility, which can be found at 420 Woodbury Turnersville Road in Blackwood. They is no fee to take part, and those who are interested can sign up through its Eventbrite page.
