A Turnersville group that provides scholarships to local students is marking its 40th year, and to celebrate the occasion, it is working to provide a second scholarship. It is seeking the support of the public to help make it possible for it to meet this goal.
The Joseph L. DeMarco III Memorial Scholarship committee is hoping to celebrate its 40th year by offering a second scholarship for this year only. Along with this, it will be celebrating Joe DeMarco’s 8th birthday with a special event held in his honor.
The combination fundraiser and beef and beer birthday bash will include dinner as well as dessert, with beer and wine to be served. The tickets are $40 each, and anyone who would like to lend a hand but cannot make it to the party is welcome to make a donation. Any printing services needed to ensure a function like this will be a success can be sourced form a printer in the area.
The organizers of the occasion noted that it is being planned as s surprise for Mr. DeMarco, and they have requested that anyone who plans on taking part to keep the event a secret. They have been asked to not share it on Facebook and anyone with questions can contact 609-992-0629 for more details.
