Turnersville residents invited to show their school spirit

Current and former students, of Washington Township High School, as well as members of the public from Turnersville and the other areas served by the school, are invited to enjoy the spirit parade and fireworks that herald the school’s homecoming events.

The Grand Marshall for this year’s festivities will be Student Theater Director and guidance counselor Jim DiGennaro. He will have the responsibility of opening the parade alongside the cheerleaders, marching band, members of the school district’s administration, and dignitaries who will attend the event.

Following this group will be the homecoming queen form last year, and the 12 members of this year’s homecoming court and their escorts. There will also be participation by other school clubs to show their school spirit. A banner printing company will be able to create custom-designed Banners, as well as a variety of other decorations that would be an ideal addition to this type of occasion.

At 7:00pm, the high school’s football team The Minutemen will take on Cherry Hill East High School. During the game’s halftime, the Washington Township Marching Band will perform and there will also be a fireworks display. The funding for the fireworks has been provided by the Turnersville AutoMall, which contributed $3,500.

All this will take place on October 23. Admission for adults is $3, for students $2, and there is no charge for seniors.
