Kids from Turnersville and the rest of Washington Township are invited to come and put their bicycle safety skills to the test and maybe learn a few new tricks as well.
The Virtura Health and Wellness Center will be the site for a Bike Rodeo, which will be held rain or shine. It’s open to kids from the ages of 5 to 15, with free admission for all. The police will be on hand to discuss the laws that surround the safe operation of a bicycle, and these will be further enforced through a variety of hands on games and other activities. There will also a bike safety and helmet fitting Checks, first aid instruction for the kids, and more. Refreshments will be provided, and all those who come out will receive a gift. Flyers can be used to promote events such as this to the public.
Area residents are invited to bring along any two-wheeled bikes that they might have that are in good condition but are no longer needed. They will be refurbished and given to children in need.
The event has been scheduled for June 25th. As a special incentive to those who preregister, the first 300 who do so will receive a free bike helmet, courtesy of AAA of South Jersey. Anyone who would like to register or find out more is invited to visit the Washington Township Police website.
