Turnersville class to introduce growing herbs at home

The Camden County Certified Gardener program offers learning opportunities all year round, and one that has been set for this November will have a festive holiday theme.

This Turnersville area initiative will be hosting a workshop that will be all about herbs and how to grow them. It will be a hands-on activity, and tickets to join the class start at $28.52 per person. This fee includes taxes and fees that may be applied.

The session will introduce a variety of herbs that are often used in holiday dishes. The students will learn how to grow them at home, and harvesting, preserving and storing them for later use will all be on the agenda. Everyone will be able to pot up a planter they can place on a sunny windowsill, and they will also discover how to prepare French-style bouquet garni from scratch. The class will run for one and a half hours.

Home horticulture can be a fun hobby, and people may be surprised to find out how much they can grow at home. Plant care tip sheets, plant tags, printed recipe cards and paper seed Envelopes are some of what can be sourced from area Stationery printers.

The Camden County Certified Gardeners Herbs for the Holidays make and take will begin at 10:00 am on November 2nd. The venue for the session will be located at 508 Lakeland Road Gloucester Township.
