Turnersville area to help build inclusive playspace

An activity that will help to make sure every child in the community has a chance to play will be on offer near Turnersville, and it will open June with a day filled with family fun.

The proceeds from the Walk n’ Roll and basket raffle day scheduled for Washington Lake Park will help to fund Jake’s Place Playground, which will be inclusive to all abilities. Registration for the activity is free, and the check-in station will open two hours ahead of the event.

Registrants for the fundraiser can run or walk, and if they require the use of a mobility device such as a wheelchair or rollator, they are welcome to participate. After this portion of the activity, it will be time for the basket raffle, and there will be more than 100 up for grabs. The winners will be announced at 2:00 pm, and they will not need to be on site.

Along with the walk and raffle, a family dance party is on the agenda, and food truck operators have been invited to take part as well. Many of the items in the baskets will be Corporate Gifts donated by area businesses and individuals.

This chance to help make sure that every child gets a chance to experience active outdoor fun will begin at 11:00 am this Saturday, June 1. Further information can be found on its All Events listing.
