NY trading gains influence from fund boost

Trade missions in the area of New York are set to secure $90m from funds that used to go towards the budget of the New York Power Authority.

Both Start-Up NY and Global NY are poised to benefit from the shift in policy. Any of the organizations in question could use a Print company in Turnersville for promotional purposes.

Morris Peters, a spokesperson for the state budget department, has assured the press that there is little unusual about the latest switch in priorities. Mr. Peters has mentioned a precedent where resources connected with the power industry were also involved.

Peters has explained things in more detail to Capital New York, saying:

“NYPA has traditionally invested in economic development initiatives as part of their business model, such as their successful Recharge NY program. If NYPA’s board agrees that this is a smart investment, the budget offers the statutory authorization.”

Global NY is a program based around the promotion of the business environment of the state. It has been targeted at companies and investors. It has been reported that $25m will be put aside for international trade missions, while $10m will apparently be spent on assisting small businesses with exports.

Start-Up NY has a different focus to Global NY. This is because it is about driving economic growth on university campuses. Tax incentives will be used to this end.
