The novel ‘The Wizard of Oz’ has been recreated for both the screen and stage, This March, a group of performers will bring the story to life near Turnersville, but it will have a special twist that will make it stand apart from the crowd.
Astala Vista and her group of drag performers will offer their unique take on the story in honor of the 80th anniversary of the release or the MGM film. Named ‘Drag Me to Landmark-Emerald City Extravaganza’, it promises to have the audience in stitches.
Each of the characters from the story will tell their tale, and an abridged version of the plot will be followed. The cast will be in full costume, and the audience will be invited to participate through the giveaways and games that have been planned for the occasion. They are also encouraged to come dressed in their best ‘Oz’-style couture, if they wish to do so.
This high-energy event is open to anyone age 21 or over, and the tickets are currently being sold online. They will also be available at the door. A display from a banner printing company can be prepared for an occasion like this, in a variety of styles.
The Landmark Americana-Glassboro will be hosting this side-splitting show on March 15. The curtain will go up at 9:00 pm.
