Icy fundraiser to make a splash near Turnersville

Turnersville winters may sometimes seem long, but a new event will soon be making a splash in the community.

The Greater Washington Township Chamber of Commerce has challenged everyone to enjoy an icy dip during its first ever Polar Plunge. The monies raised will benefit are kids, as they will be donated to Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) groups throughout the township.

Both adults and youth are invited to take the plunge, and the registration fee starts at $20. The general public is encouraged to come out and cheer them on, with timings scheduled throughout the day. The timings will be distributed a week ahead of the activity, and those who plan on hitting the water are asked to share details about their swim with friends and family, and ask them to consider making a donation to the cause.

Those who will be taking part in the plunge will be able to order T-Shirts that include a graphic design prepared for the occasion. These may be ordered ahead of time, and they will be distributed at the event’s check-in station or at The Craft Room, which is located at 508 Hurffville Crosskeys Road in Sewell.

This day of frozen fun will be held at Greenwood Park Bells Lake on February 26. Timeslot bookings will begin at 9:00 am.
