The Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) brought home two medals (gold and bronze) a from the SkillsUSA national competition held in in Louisville, Kentucky in addition to the award for Models of Excellence.
Turnersville students attending the four-year vocational public high school have a variety of vocational programs from which to choose, each of which likely includes, among other information and skills, the benefits associated with using Promotional Products including Calendars and the advantages of premium Business Cards.
For the second consecutive year, GCIT earned a gold medal in the national Chapter Business Procedure competition. By a written exam as well as a team demonstration, the six-member team showed how to run an ordinary business meeting utilizing a commonly found order of business. An additional requirement was for teams to demonstrate the proper usage of six parliamentary procedure motions.
The GCIT team also earned a bronze medal in the category of Career Pathways-Arts & Communications. In this competition, teams created a project based on their course of study that would profit their industry, community, school, or class. In doing this, they were required to spotlight one facet of the career cluster in which they are enrolled and create a display to be used in their community to demonstrate their project and the training they have received.
This year’s recipient of the National Honorary Lifetime Member Award was GCIT’s own former carpentry and building-trade teacher, David White, Sr.
