Hackensack will host the fifth annual Aphasia Kickball Game this September, raising funds and awareness for the Adler Aphasia Center.
Organized by Kaizen Fitness Health and Wellness, the event invites community members to play, watch, or make a donation. The fundraiser grew from Kaizen founder Chris David’s family experience with aphasia after his mother had a stroke.
The tournament will feature 60 players divided among four teams. Each team can include up to 15 players and will compete in a six-inning format. Two opening games will begin the tournament, followed by a championship match for the winners, and a third-place game for the remaining teams. As a result, every team will play twice.
Participants can request a preferred team when purchasing a player ticket, although organizers may adjust team assignments to maintain balanced competition. Spectator tickets will also be available for those who want to support the players from the sidelines. Families, friends, and children are welcome to attend.
Events like this may use local Print shops to provide team shirts and share clear event information with players and spectators.
The Aphasia Kickball Game will take place Sunday, September 13, at Foschini Park in Hackensack. All proceeds will directly benefit people living with aphasia and their families.
