The Johnson Public Library, a community hub in Hackensack, will be closing its doors completely for a few weeks so it can receive some TLC, with some of the work continuing into 2026.
The venue will be closed as of today (November 10) to allow work crews to engage in asbestos abatement and also demolition. This means its calendar has had to be adjusted, and it wants to let its patrons know.
The venue’s book drops will be closed from today until November 17th, and many of the programs have been rescheduled or cancelled. Staff can still be contacted by email by anyone needing assistance, and its social work interns may be reached by phone at 551-286-8260. They will be able to make remote appointments. The other libraries in the BCCLS system will be welcoming patrons during this time.
