East Windsor hosts health seminar

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will offer an education seminar on Clinical Trials next week.

The event is aimed at families and their loved ones diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma who currently participate in clinical trials. The information session will work to bridge knowledge gaps about clinical trials, and how these may be incorporated into treatment plans. The topics include making informed choices about care and clinical trials, and gathering reliable information to help make these decisions. The topics include the benefits, risks, and myths of clinical trials.

Patrons can look forward to a structured program where professionals, and those with first-hand experience will lead sessions. Instructors will include a clinical trial nurse navigator, a medical oncologist, and a lymphoma clinical trial patient.

The organizer of this event is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a group that specializes in offering support to patients and their families. This event follows others held with the aim of raising awareness of the options available. It is open to all residents, and no doubt families in nearby Cranbury will be interested.

Those who wish to attend must first register by visiting the event’s website. Registration and entry are free. Poster printing can offer additional information to those in attendance at events like this.

The seminar takes place next Tuesday, November 1 at the Holiday Inn at 399 Monmouth Street in East Windsor.
