Communities to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks

Most communities in the United States are holding at least one fireworks display on and around July 4, but there are two such displays taking place close to Cranbury.

East Windsor Township is hosting a four-hour concert which will include a fireworks display on July 3, with a rain date of July 5. Musical guests will be Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band and the Trenton Brass Quintet plus One. Food will be available for purchase on site. The fireworks display will begin at 9:30 pm.

Meanwhile, the township of Cranberry is holding its fireworks display on July 5, or the following day if it rains. It will feature a performance by the Mercer County Symphonic Band. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and picnic food. Fireworks take place at 9:30 pm.

Fireworks fans from all over the area may want to attend both of these events if possible. Organizers of them have likely been advertising throughout the Cranbury area to encourage as many people to attend as possible.

The East Windsor event will take place at Etra Lake Park on July 3 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Admission is free. Call 609-443-4000 for more information.

The Cranbury fireworks display and concert will be held at Village Park on July 5 from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. To find out more, call 609-395-0900.
