Art event to take place in garden setting

A popular event is coming up soon that will enable attendees to get outside and enjoy art at the same time.

Calgo Gardens in Freehold, a short drive from Cranbury, is holding its Art in the Garden event. Talented artisans and artists from throughout the area gather to present their artwork. They include photographers, potters, jewelers, and painters in both acrylic and watercolor, all of whom express themselves creatively.

People visiting the gardens will be able to walk through the grounds, examine the seasonal flowers and plants, take a break on the patio, enjoy live music, and stop to get a bit at the Tulip Tree Café.

Calgo Gardens are known for their whimsical grounds, which are dotted with water features, colorful pottery, walkways, outbuildings with imaginative decorations, and architectural and decorative elements. These include a huge glass flower, a meditating frog, and a goat made of scrap metal. Flyer printing can be used to create handouts for attendees, describing the artworks and the garden.

The Gardens plan on giving back to their community, and the suggested admission free of $3 will go to support the Joel E. Perlmutter Food Pantry. Organizers note that they will be following the COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time of the event.

The date of the show is September 25, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Tickets are available in advance, but walk-ins are welcome.
