Area celebrates its native side

An event called the “Raritan Native American Heritage Celebration & Pow Wow 2023” will be taking place in Cranbury this June.

Individuals are invited to engage in contests and specials at the Redhawk Pow Wows. There will be Contest Dancing and the Pura Women's Fancy Shawl Special, showcasing the vibrant traditions of Native American culture.

Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from different tribes, including the Navajo, Seneca, Mohawk, Cherokee, Mayan, Lakota, Aztec, Hawaiian, and Samoan tribes. A special highlight is the tipi raising, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and customs of Native American communities.

Ticket prices vary, ranging from $10 to $45. To receive more information, attendees can contact the organizer by email or phone at 718-686-9297 or native@redhawkcouncil.org. Individuals should note that the Redhawk Pow Wows are held outdoors, regardless of the weather conditions. As a result, ticket refunds will not be provided. Attendees must also note that the event has a strict prohibition of alcohol, food from outside, drugs, drinks, ice, or coolers within the premises.

Brochure printing can be a great way for organizers to provide information about different tribes at events such as this one.

The event dates are Saturday, June 17th to Sunday, June 18th, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. It will be located at Middlesex County Fair Grounds on 655 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Individuals from nearby Cranbury may also be in attendance at this event.
