Caldwell patrons support The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as it continues to offer free virtual performances on the NJSO YouTube channel in January.
To start the new year, The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra String section will accompany Broadway star Rema Webb in presenting “You’ll Never Walk Alone” the iconic song from the musical “Carousel” by Rodgers and Hammerstein. This is the first of three virtual performances that the NJSO is collaborating with Paper Mill Playhouse. The live performance will be Tuesday, January 5 beginning at 7:00 pm.
The first concert of the New Year will be Still & Dvorak. Along with Still’s Mother and Child, Puccini’s Crisatemi and Dvorak’s ever popular Serenade for Strings, the program will include a Coleridge-Taylor arrangement of Deep River. The piece will be performed by pianist Xian Zhang the orchestra’s music director, and violinist Eric Wyrick the orchestra’s concert master. The performance will premiere on January 14 at 7:30 pm.
On January 20th, again at 7:30 pm, “From Van Vleck House & Gardens in Montclair” will be an evening of Beethoven. The program will be his Septet in E-Flat Major Adagio-Allegro con brio. Eric Wyrick will be the violinist, David Blinn the violist, Na-Young Baek the bassist, Andrew Lamy will play clarinet, Robert Wagner the bassoon, and Lawrence DiBello the horn.
