Caldwell helps Haiti children through festival

The One Love: Caribbean Music Festival coming later in August will be presenting live music performances on three stages, along with Caribbean food, local artisans, and fun for Caldwell kids.

The Bless Up Stage will have international Dancehall and Reggae dancers and artists. The To Mi Heart Stage will feature Afrobeat, Calypso, and Soca performers and musicians. Latin, R&B and hip-hop DJs will be manning the Wavy Stage. Fans can purchase LED sticks for the concerts.

The venue will have an interactive art zone, carnival games and a photo booth. Guests may buy T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design.

Over 35 vendors have signed up. Food will be available for purchase from vendors such as Pure Love Pies, Caribbean food from Yam Go Weh, and Taylored Meals. Clothing and Apparel vendors will include LYL Apparel, Adourned, Wear Africa, Sasha Jewels LLC, Bedu Africa Clothing and Jewelry, and Jojewels.

Hemp & Heal will be selling pet supplies, and beauty products will be vended by Beauty by Nature, Ma Roots Natural Healing and Massages, Oils R Us Fragrances, LaMonique Cosmetics, and Yummies Skincare Boutique.

The event will benefit Dory and Sud, Haiti. Proceeds will go toward providing clean water, medicine for cholera patients, and school services for children.

The One Love music Fest will be Saturday, August 18, from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Military Park, in Newark.
