Caldwell class to teach basics of machine sewing

Sewing is a hobby that can be enjoyed by many ages, and a Caldwell class will teach the fundamentals by creating a pet-friendly craft project.

The Eclectic Chic Boutique will be hosting a workshop that will teach how to prepare a simple pet bandana, and these may be suitable for a cat, dog, ferret, or other furry friend. Everyone will go home with their completed project, and the run time for the session is two hours.

Attendees will gain experience using a sewing machine, and any fabrics, threads, and notions needed for the bandanas will be supplied. Everyone will have an opportunity to craft two items, so that they can keep one and donate the other to the charges at the Montclair Animal Shelter. There is enough space in the activity for six participants, and registration must be made in advance. Three different start times are on the agenda.

Learning how to get started with a new hobby can be a lot of fun, especially when it is done as part of a larger group. Stationery printers can prepare tip sheets for the attendees to take home so they can keep on learning after a session draws to a close.

This chance to gain experience with machine sewing while also helping local animals will be held on Saturday, March 25. Its listing can be consulted for more information.
