Many rock music fans in the Caldwell area will be celebrating New Year’s Eve with the Dark Star Orchestra.
The Dark Star Orchestra is a seven-member band that pays tribute to the music of the Grateful Dead. The group presents setlists for each of the iconic band’s unique styles over its 30 years of touring. They also perform their own improvisations.
The band recreates the music and ambience of the Grateful Dead experience to be enjoyed by both the old Deadheads and new fans.
Band members include Rob Barraco on guitar and keyboard, Rob Eaton, Jeff Mattson, and Skip Vangelas on guitar, Dino English and Rob Koritz on percussion, and vocalist Liza Mackey.
Deadheads may enjoy wearing their Grateful Dead T-Shirts and bringing Promotional Products sporting the original band’s iconic rose Logo Design. Dark Star Orchestra also has merchandise available on its website. Their graphic design uses the other popular Grateful Dead graphic design – the skeleton.
Tickets run from $29.50 for back balcony to $39.50 for general tickets, to $202 for front row seating.
The Dark Star Orchestra will be bringing its Cosmic New Year’s Eve performance to The Wellmont Theater, 5 Seymour St., Mountclair. The first performance will be Monday, December 30 starting at 7:00 pm and the second will be Tuesday, December 31 also starting at 7:00 pm.
