Valentine events are being planned throughout the Caldwell area for before and after Valentine’s Day.
On February 7, from 6:30 until 8:00 pm, the Caldwell Public Library will host a Chocolate Lovers Delight Contest. Everyone is invited to whip up their favorite chocolate dessert and enter. There will be a prize for the winner. Entries must be made from scratch, and full contest rules and entry Forms are available at the library.
Two days later on February 9, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm at The Garden State Kitchen, 406 Tompkins Street, City of Orange will prepare an ‘Eat Your Heart Out Valentine’s Day 4 Course Dinner & Wine Pairing’. Chef Nicole Walker has created the menu, including tomato soup, Brussels salad, scallops, duck breast, and apple empanadas.
Them on February 10 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, the library will present the Jane Stuart Quartet in its Hooray for Love concert. The group will explore the crazy, funny, good, and bad aspects of love through well-known songs.
Lastly, and just after the big day itself, the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo, 560 Northfield Avenue in West Orange will be hosting its ‘2019 Valentine’s Day Date Night’ on February 16 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. The evening will be a buffet-style dinner followed by an education program ‘The Birds and The Bees and SSPs (the Species Survival Plans)’. Local conservation clubs and associations can help generate support for such events by getting some flyer printing done and decorating their buildings.
