A Concord-based company will be part of a team responsible for the installation of a new 10-megawatt battery storage unit in Texas.
Alevo Energy and Ormat Technologies, which is based in Nevada, will work together to install the new device for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas by the end of the current year. The project, which will be constructed in Georgetown, Texas, will also serve to provide data to help the utility company come to a decision about whether or not getting involved in the business of energy storage would be a good fit for itself.
This particular utility scale storage job will be the second of its kind that Alevo has been involved with this year. The first is an eight-megawatt unit that will be installed in Lewes, Delaware, and will be used to help manage charges in capacity and reduce peak demand for a municipal power utility that provides electricity to the public. A printing company that provides document scanning services can be put to use in situations like this by converting paper Copies of contracts and other documents into a digital form so that they can easily be stored and accessed when needed.
According to Alevo President Chris Christiansen, the partnership with Ormat has proven to be very attractive and successful so far, and he looks forward to further cooperation between the two companies in the future. Get a Free Quote for Copies
