Concord fire department to host summer camp

The Fire Department of the city of Concord will be holding its week-long summer camp once again this year.

Called Camp Inferno, this is a program based on leadership for students of high school age and uses training and exercises based on skills to instill the values of confidence, leadership, teamwork, and communication.

During the camp, which lasts a week, participants will learn exciting and new skills, such as performing an aerial climb from a ladder truck, scaling and rappelling from the training tower, and using tools of extrication to cut a vehicle. There will also be drills based on scenarios that are designed to strengthen communication skills, build confidence in each person’s decision-making skills, and encourage teamwork.

Brochure printing offers an effective way to share comprehensive information about such camps and showcase the valuable benefits for attendees.

Those who can apply should be in high school or will be graduating this spring. The application proves requires each applicant to write a short essay on what makes a good leader, what they hope to learn and gain from the camp, and why they should be selected for the camp.

The camp will take place from Monday June 22 through Friday June 26 at Concord Fire Station 3 each day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no cost for the camp and lunch will be provided each day.
